Remember Love
You’re here because you believe in love, not the easy kind, but the brave kind.
The kind worth fighting for in a time like this.
You are a warrior of the heart.
A soul who dares to hold something sacred while the world rushes to forget.
You corral your courage, and it doesn’t mean you don’t feel fear.
It means you rise anyway. It means you fall to your knees and still try again.
I fiercely believe that our hunger for love
is bound to the ache of the world right now.
Love is trying to wake us. To remind us of our shared, trembling, sacred belonging.
It’s a tremendous growl.
A rumble. A pulse inside our ribs that won’t be silenced.
And it is absolutely necessary for the times we’re stepping into next.
Is Sunday the end of the week or a new beginning? Perhaps it is both.
It’s where we all are right now. Is it the end of the world as we know it?
I think, yes.
But we can also choose what comes next
To cleave to a radical kind of love that changes the world.
I know, I’m an idealistic, hope-filled human who has always believed in love as the answer. Not the flimsy, romantic kind but the kind that dares to be authentic, real, messy and true.
And even though every part of my being lights up at these thoughts
I admit: In moments, I lose my footing. I wonder if I’ve lost my mind.
Is it foolish to believe in a love this deep?
This real? This soul-splitting?
If so, then I’m prepared to be the biggest fool of all.
What dreams of love stir your soul in the quiet of night, underneath a moon that beckons you to believe?
How do you see the world transformed by love?
What would we heal?
What would we become?
Dare to dream, my love, to believe. You are not alone, and we will gather soon.
Until then,
Be love and be loved
